Machine Requirements

Injection Moulding

Heating
At least three separately controllable heating zones, capable of providing cylinder temperatures up to
350 °C and a separate nozzle heating are necessary. The cylinder flange temperature must be controllable.

Basic settings
The specific processing temperature profiles are given in the graphic below of the respective Grilamid TR products.

Mould design

Extrusion Moulding

Grilamid TR can be processed economically and without problems on all machines suitable for polyamides.

Screw
Wear-protected, universal screws (3 zones) with non-return valve are recommended.
Length 18 D - 25 D
Compression ratio 2 - 25

Feeding zone
Smooth feeding bushes are usually recommended for the extrusion of Grilamid TR. It is recommended to maintain the temperature of the feed zone constant in a range between 60 - 90 °C

Temperature settings
Temperature settings must be adjusted according to the selected grade. The recommended temperature profiles are given in the datasheets of the respective Grilamid TR products.

Calibraiton (tubes and hoses)
For precise calibration of Grilamid TR tubes both disk and tube calibrators are suitable. For the tube calibrator system we recommend a surface coating (e.g. PTFE) to reduce the friction coefficient.
The water temperature of the vacuum tank should be in a range between 40 - 60°C.
